The purpose of the Beautiful Baby Contest is to raise funds to support the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. and the Smart Start program.
PHOTO SUBMISSION PERIOD
The photo submission period for the Contest begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time Sunday, April 10, 2011 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, May 2, 2011. A submission charge of $20 will be required.
ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who reside in Robeson County and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees and the immediate family members of the Robesonian and the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. are not eligible to enter the Contest. For purposes of this Contest, “immediate family members” is defined as spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws", or by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other familial extension. In order to enter the Contest or win the prize, the Entrant must comply fully with these official rules and by entering agrees to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. whose decisions shall be binding and final in all respects.
The Contest is open only to amateur photographers (individuals who directly or indirectly receive no more than 5% or less of their personal annual gross income from selling their original photos).
CONTEST RULES
Child must be ages birth to five years of age but not yet in Kindergarten at the time of entry.
Entry of the photo in the contest must be authorized by the parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of the child and must be a Robeson County resident. The entrant will be required to submit a consent form to the Robesonian or the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. upon request.
Professional photos will not be accepted. Photos must have been taken by the entrant or another amateur photographer and cannot be the product of a professional photographers such as Wal-Mart, Sears, JC Penny, Kmart, Target, a portrait studio or any professional photographer, paid or unpaid.
Entrants are limited to one photo entry during the submission period.
The photo must not have been published or be under consideration for publication or prizes elsewhere.
The photo must be of the child only. No other persons should appear in the photo.
All children must be clothed and babies must be wearing a minimum of a full coverage diaper in the photo.
The photo must be in natural color or black and white. Sepia tone and duotone photos are not acceptable.
Photos that have been altered, manipulated or enhanced using computer software programs will not be accepted. Minor adjustments to the Photo such as lightening or darkening areas of the Photo, slight contrast or color adjustments and cropping are acceptable. If it is determined that a photo has been altered, manipulated or enhanced, the judges reserve the right to disqualify the photo.
By entering the contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photo is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the photo does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photo.
If the Photo contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photo, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the Photo in the manner set forth in these rules without additional compensation.
VOTING
All entries will be published in the Robesonian on Mother' Day, Sunday, May 8,2011. Voting will be begin Monday, May 9, 2011 at 9:00am ET and extend through Monday, June 13, 2011 at 5:00pm ET. A voting donation of $1.00 per vote will be assessed. Voting can be done online at the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. web site by logging in at www.robesonpartnership.org. Votes can be made in person or by mail at the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. office located at 210 E. 2nd Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
WINNERS
Two first place winners will be selected, one male and one female. First place winners will receive $100 in cash, a Crown or Tiara, and a Parade Magnet. One second place winner will receive $75 Cash and a Trophy. One third place winner will receive $50 Cash and a Trophy. One forth, fifth and sixth place winner will each receive $25 Cash and a Trophy.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible votes received.
The winners will be announced on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, 2011 in the Robesonian. Prizes can be picked up at The Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. located at 210 E. 2nd Street, Lumberton, NC 28358 or make alternate arrangements when you are notified.
